The Excel Center hosted an open house on Monday, December 7, 2015 to showcase our new school building. Visitors included Indiana House Representative Dale Devon, Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, the Goodwill LEADS Board of Directors, and community members. Current students also attended, taking family and friends on a tour of their school. At the beginning of the open house, visitors heard from Debie Coble, CEO of Goodwill Industries, Indiana House Representative Dale Devon, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Excel Director Randy Beachy. An invocation was given by Bishop Eddie Miller of Faith Apostolic.

Throughout the evening, visitors toured The Excel Center, speaking to both staff and students. One point of interest was the Drop-In Center, which provides childcare to children of students. While students are in class, their children are learning in the interactive and nurturing environment created by the Drop-In Center staff. Visitors also spent some time in the lobby examining the pictures on the “Meet Our Staff” wall.

Light refreshments were served by Chef G, Goodwill’s catering service, and coffee service was provided by Bendix Coffee.
